Miguel Chuca started his professional career in 1999, teaching 6th grade math and science for 3 years and transitioning to 5th grade science and social studies which he taught for 4 years. While engaged in his teaching career, he received his master’s in counseling; furthermore, Miguel was also involved in the Technology Integration Target Grant in partnership with Region One ESC. In 2006, Miguel Chuca became a Science Specialist with the Region One ESC. His job responsibilities conducting professional development as well as writing science curriculum for a statewide collaboration of educational service centers. While doing the statewide collaboration curriculum writing, he integrated technology into his trainings. Miguel Chuca received his principal certification while at Region One ESC and became the coordinator for the department of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment – Learning Resources Integration where he oversaw programs such as the Social Studies, STEM, and the LRI departments. His team created innovative approaches to work together and develop effective training for teachers and affective STEM/Curriculum student camps. Currently Miguel Chuca the LRI/Instructional Technology – Director where he oversees the STEM, LRI, Distance Learning department as well products such as DMAC, Eduphoria, TEKSbank, MEGAbyte and Distance Learning Consortium. With the help of his team, Miguel Chuca continues to create innovated ways to collaborate and build capacity with all departments and work together to create online content in the areas of STEM, Instructional Technology, and compliance courses.
